Finally got finger to keyboard. Have loved the blogs from both sides of the Pacific, a real keepsake. Looks like all the extra training is paying off. I was initially cynical when Tobias said we needed to step up the program but the early morning starts at Dressmart, the late night Broadway and the wet Sunday St Luke 4 hr marathons are clearly paying dividends with the perfect mix of retail pace setting, opportunism and stamina. Judging by the texts we got from the Nike store the reccy took about 40 mins per floor and we had constant updates, only problem being Tobias forgot we were in a western Australia and it takes about 39 mins to get back to sleep! An exciting night though!
The coaches deserve special mention for their infectious humor and for going the extra mile in more ways than one, particularly Ben for agreeing to drug trafficking through surely one of the strictest border controls on the planet (ok so it was just travel sickness patches) with the prospect of Alcatraz being his final resting place.
Great that these are read out at breakfast as we have a telegram for T Lorimer
Enjoy Hawaii, see of you can hang 10 -stop
Sprint all the way to the tape -stop
If you're tempted to buy more -stop
Love (don't have to read that bit out if he's already blushing) dad, mum, William and Tom.
