Update

Hi all,

Most of the touring party (Coaching staff not included sadly) enjoyed 10hrs of sleep last night, waking up at 7:30am this morning. We all then experienced a tram ride into Union Square, downtown San Francisco, which even the teenage boys thought was cool! The tram moved its way up and down the steep contours of the San Fran landscape, with impressive views of the Bay and Alcatraz available along the route. Upon arriving in town just after 9am we scattered to find breakfast and in the process found shops, which occupied everyone's attention until 1pm. A people-watching tram ride back to Fisherman's Wharf then allowed time to grab some quick lunch before heading to St Ignatius High School. Our boys were once again welcomed with open arms and took off shortly after for a run (2 options- either 7 miles or 10 miles). Then it was into a series of new billet's cars and off for the night.

This billet situation will be different to the others with no students really living in close proximity to the school, given house prices in central San Francisco. I am sure though it will be another fantastic experience. Tomorrow it is off to Stanford University before another squad run in the afternoon, so the very good balance of work and play continues.

Points of Note:
1. Coach Jones should get a medal after finding M Pogson's iPhone which was temporarily 'lost'. Without the Welsh Wizard these boys would be lost.
2. H Barclay started the day by losing his wallet. It actually ended up in Z Xie's bag thus Detective Inspector M Haycock concluded we have a thief on tour. Andy obviously denied this and prior to a public hanging in Union Square Hamish realised he had in fact placed his wallet in the wrong bag.
3. J Pallister purchased the entire Vans store to keep up with the shoe trend. K Esterhuizen went for classy dress shoes, apparently labelled at $89 which turned out to be $320 at the counter- Kyle kindly turned down the bargain.
4. Coach Jordan has started fighting back. After being nicknamed "Princess" by Coach Skeen at the start of the tour he is now making names of his own; they include "Dorothy"- J Ellis (due to his red shoes) "Casanova"- J Grieve (due to his smooth aura), "Petal"- H Watt (due to his strength), "Nobody"- Coach Gordon (because "Nobody's Perfect").
5. S Perera and H Barclay continue to be the first individuals ready for meeting times on tour and F Boswell and O Clarke remain the last to be organised (or is that the other way around?)
6. M Pogson takes the best gift award today- he purchased a doll. Questions have been asked about whether he actually has a sister. Investigations are underway.

Still hoping to get some photos on the blog of the Hollister race before lights out.

Take care from the team here in sunny San Fran.
